Chapter · Getting there & away
Getting there
The soi opens off the south side of Sukhumvit Road, between two BTS Skytrain stations. Either one puts you at the corner in about five minutes on foot.
By Skytrain
Both stations are on the BTS Sukhumvit Line, one stop apart, with the soi between them.
Phloen Chit
E2About 300 m west of the corner, roughly 4 minutes along Sukhumvit Road. Walking from the station, the soi is on your right.
Nana
E3About 400 m east of the corner, roughly 6 minutes along Sukhumvit Road. Walking from the station, the soi is on your left.
Add the length of the soi if you are staying deep inside it: the far end is another 630 metres, about 9 minutes, from the corner.
From Suvarnabhumi Airport
Take the Airport Rail Link to its last stop, Phaya Thai, and change there to the BTS Sukhumvit Line. Phloen Chit is four stops along in the direction of Kheha.
By bus
A bus stop called Phloen Chit Center stands on Sukhumvit Road right beside the corner.
Still to be walked
Which station exits are quickest, where the motorbike taxis wait and what they charge to the far end, and how taxis and ride-hailing cars handle a dead-end street are all on the list for our first walk.
